Gumroad is open source, so you can read Tastelint's reviews on the actual pull requests. Here are three, unedited.
A pull request added a currency selector to Gumroad's footer. Tastelint read the six screenshots and left three findings, each with a marked crop and a fix. Here are two of them:
“Detected currency” doesn't say which currency
“The footer select's closed state reads ‘Detected currency’ on both the product page and discover, so the buyer can't tell what they're currently being shown — the checkout picker gets this right with ‘$ (US Dollars) — detected’. Same preference, two different vocabularies.”
Fix: “Render the resolved currency in the closed state, matching checkout: ‘$ (US Dollars) — detected’.”
Discover selector floats below the footer, not in it
“The currency select sits alone in a band under the social icons, unaligned with either the link columns or the copyright row — it looks bolted on rather than part of the footer's right column, which is where the brief put it.”
Fix: “Move the select into the footer's right column so it shares the footer's grid instead of hanging below it.”
On the checkout currency picker, the follow-up screenshots came back after a fix round:
“Fixed: the mobile GBP shot now shows the picker at the top of the summary box, and the currency label and amounts (£ (British Pounds), £0 tip, £7.47) now match the desktop shots. No leftovers — these look ready to ship.”
A small button change got exactly the review it deserved:
“Shots look fine to ship — the published button reads as a proper flat button in light, dark, and mobile.”
